Region? PAL/NTSC?

Postby Wallet Boy » 19 Nov 2008 02:48

Hey guys - long time GR fan here. Does anyone have the 3 disc European version of the DVD? Can you tell me if it's region coded and if it is PAL or NTSC?

I'm in the US and would like to order the 3 disc if possible, and would love to know for sure what the specs are.

Thanks!

Hey dude! Welcome!!!

I have a friend who did order it, it's PAL, but it works with some softwares or if you have a nonregion DVD player :)

Hope that helps!

So is something like this bogus then?

(Actually, the forum just told me I can't post a link since I'm new, but if you search ebay for Gamma Ray Hell yeah 3 DVD it should come up)

He's saying he has an NTSC version and he has very good feedback but I don't know whether they are legit with this DVD.

Well, if you just order it from amazon.de it should work.

I can say that when I did order mine, it said 3 dvd set, but it was just the regular two cd set. Europe is the only place that got the third dvd, so order from somewhere like the British or German amazon, or some music store like that. You might also be able to order it from a record store or something too in your area. There are ways to get it, but if you do order from Europe, be prepared for shipping to be a bitch.

I hope that helps :)

Ok, I have now seen Disc 3 and it is fantastic

My god they are goofy... I still can't believe Henjo splattered the wall with his cut... Yikes!

The live vids were great, I really enjoyed all four, and they sounded great too :D I like the different motifs they used within the videography too. Very cool.

Ahh, good times :D

I've got the DVD and i've already seen it

It could be better, i must say... especially in the solo parts where the camera wonders through almost everyone in the band instead of fixing in the solo dude... I can still figure out some of the solo parts but it would Agghseome to have it all right in the face of the camera...

Anyway the concert is very good... there are some songs also present in the skeletons that were better in the previous concert, and others that i've enjoyed more listening in this dvd.

The historay doesn't have any subtitles which is bad cause can't understand german at all... and many of the fans won't also...

But the strange thing is that in the 3rd dvd (the dvd that is not present in all releases.. only europe) is the only one which has subtitles in english for the tour backstage parts... weird...!?

Well final veridict... i liked it... but it's not perfect for something that was in the table for 3 years or so...

It got me pumping again to play some more songs thouhg.. check it out:

Hmm, no both road movies have subtitles, or they should anyway. On the road movie on disc 2 it just pops up at the very beginning when Daniel and Eero are in the airport. :)

Well, I did find a slight problem with the dvd, but it's just me being anal and not purchasing some kind of super duper sound system for the tv. On the tv my parents have, Henjo's solos don't come through on the main concert disc. I was like noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank god I have a good monitor and a really good set of speakers for my computer. I watch it on this more than the tv anyway.

Which is exactly why I have problems with it. I don't like watching DVDs on my computer unless I'm doing screen caps. I'd rather watch it on my TV but the sound sucks.

Well, if anyone in the US or Americas is interested, you can order the 3 disc set here:

Since it's apparently nonregion it should work.

N such.

Just happened to noodle over to Bravewords and saw there's a review of the live CD up, no DVD review yet though.
